Commissioned by Mary on the Green, the sculpture commemorates the writer, philosopher and advocate for women’s rights Mary Wollstonecraft.
Arch Bronze undertook the full production of the sculpture, from enlargement and scaling of the artist’s original model through to mould making, bronze casting, chasing, specialist surface finishing and installation.

Created as part of Hambling’s series of sea sculptures, later shown in Sea Sculpture – Paintings and Etchings at Marlborough Fine Art, London, in 2010.
